Healing & Energy Work

What is Energy?

Healing is a natural life source or life force of energy. Known as Ki (from the word Reiki) by the Japanese. Taoists call it the life force energy Chi (Qi) - movement through the body or Indians call it Prana charting the course for movement of life force energy through the body. The Chinese and the Hindus are known for teaching the benefits of arousing and moving this energy throughout the spine and the brain.

Cultures & Traditions

Shamanism is in many cultures and traditions around the world. Healing in the form of ritual, herb and plant medicine, divination, symbolism, use of the earth elements and ceremony.

The term “Traditional and Indigenous Medicine” refers to the healing systems that have been used by various countries and ethnic populations for thousands of years, before the arrival of modern medicine, and then the arrival of the "New age movement".

The adaptation of neoshamanisim (this refers to "New" forms of shamanism, or methods of seeking visions or healing).

This alternative and adapted principles of various traditional healing methods have been evolving in the West since the 60's. We now live in a world of invention an adaptation the old is new and the new is old.

In main stream western society an eclectic range of modalities more commonly known as or referred to as "Alternative or Complementary Therapies".

The most commonly known complementary practices or methods of healing utilised in the West are Reiki, Chinese medicine, Acupuncture, Reflexology, and Naturopathy.

However there are many more that have evolved and making a presence and still making way into public knowledge and awareness.

What are Meridians & Chakra's

Meridians

In traditional Chinese Medicine the concept of the Meridian system-network or channel for Chi energy that moves through the 12 main meridians, put simply also relate to functions and organs, that are in two groups of Yin and Yang.

The ancient Chinese philosophy of energy is referred to as the meridian system. The meridian channels act like the circulatory system that ensures the blood travels through the body and can be likened to an 'energy' bloodstream.

Chakras

The word Chakra derives from the Sanskrit word meaning "wheel," as well as "circle" and "cycle".  This term refers to wheels of energy throughout the body. There are seven main Chakra centers in our bodies in which energy flows through which align the spine, starting from the base of the spine through to the crown of the head.

Each of these main centers are located throughout the body, and represent different meanings that relate to our physical function, mental and emotional storehouses.

Blocked or stagnant energy in our seven main chakras can often lead to discomfort, illness dis-ease and imbalance in varying degrees, so it's important to understand what each chakra represents and what we can do to keep this energy flowing freely.

East - West

The human energy field can be found in Indian and Vedic scripts, Tibetan Buddhist and Chinese medical systems, in varying forms dating back thousands of years.

In eastern cultures they have lived by natural healing for thousands of years. They believe the mind body are connected and that they are 'One' and in the west it is has been believed in the past as the mind body being separate or disconnected from one another.

Now in the Western medical communities there are more scientific studies proving the connections with thoughts and stressors that effect how our bodies function.

We are all looking deeper and turning to alternative methods of healing and healthful ways of living. Looking for the cause rather than a treatment of symptoms which can be a bandaid affect and a temporary or quick fix.

The alternative and natural health is more recognised and readily available in today's western society.

Generally more people are aware of the health benefits in seeking health care alternatives or complimentary treatments in preference to the medical western traditions.

We are all looking for and finding more awareness and answers for better self care and prevention rather than a  quick fix and are opting for different healing modalities and the benefits of adopting a new healthful lifestyle.

Albert Szent-Györgyi, Nobel laureate in Medicine:

“In every culture and in every medical tradition before ours, healing was accomplished by moving energy.”

Healing and Energy work

Practical Energy Healing how does it work?

Our human bodies are designed to "Heal" this is a normal natural function, that is in a constant motion. The body will heal by activating its natural energy. In medicine science your physically body automatically heals and regenerates itself, and this is the same with energy healing or energy medicine if you like.

We can become stagnate or blocked and unbalanced with our energy for many different reasons. There is a natural life force energy, that is not only within us but all around us, in the Earth, trees, the Sun etc.

There are many layers to our energy field... These can relate to areas of our body, muscles, skin, and organs. The energy systems such as charkra's and meridians when blocked can give insight for where the body needs to correct itself and therefore direct the healing that is needed for the energy to flow natural and in a state of balance again.

Most importantly the Chakras (energy centers which relate and connect to meridians (a channel or network in the body that is a pathway for life force energy (Chi) flows through a network, which relate to organs and physical function) pinpoint the areas in the physical and energy body that need to be corrected.

Energy Healing

How I work with you to facilitate healing...

By locating the point of correction or priority areas for healing, initiating or activating awareness around current blocks on any level. ie: Physical, emotional, mental or and energetically.

I then facilitate and direct the energy, through gentle hands on healing.

This is an activation or start point for the energy to again flow through with ease, where there has been energy that has been stagnant, congested or blocked.

Bringing awareness is where the healing starts, the process can begin for the body to naturally correct and heal itself. This can be a slow ripple affect, instant or over a period of time. The change in some healing's may last days, weeks, months, a year, or for many years.

Every person is so unique and different in which way we process healing. This is dependant on the type of issues and blocks, and how long they have been there, and also if any conditions have manifested into physical symptoms or pain..

In most cases depending on the individual there is a layer effect that can take place and this can need a period of processing time and ongoing work. This depends on many different reasons ie: how long there has been stagnation or blocked energy, and also most importantly the willingness to release these energies. Awareness is the key, and this can shift so much.

Often it can be in an instant that you can clear stagnate and or old energies from your whole system and fields of energy. This can bring with it an elated feeling, awareness and clarity, balance, a renewed sense of energy and peace or it can be subtle changes that you can sense and feel differences.
